writes:Okay bear with me... it will make sense when you get to the end.My parents raised our family as naturalists and we would go to different nudist resorts for vacation a few times each year. When I was 17 I met my future husband at a nudist resort in our home state and we started dating. Well we've been married for a year now and my hubby and I still have a really great sex life. Because we don't wear clothes around our home we can be really spontaneous and get going whenever the mood strikes and believe me it strikes often! As a naturalist, my mom raised me to be very liberal and not to be grossed out by natural human biology or sex acts, even those less traditional. My hubby was raised the same way. I do everything with my man to keep things hot. Without sounding gross... we have sex every day, even if I have my period. We usualy go outside on those days and lay down in the grass, because it can be messy depending upon how heavily I am flowing. But if it is too cool, we have a plastic sheet for the bed. We have it figured out...I thought I would let you all know that we have the cleanliness aspect covered.Anyway... I told my best friend about having sex every day during my period yesterday and she said it is dangerous and I could get infected because of the bleeding. She said being outdoors makes it even worse. I never heard of that before, but she insisted she read something in a womans magazine about some new virus I could get.Do other girls have intercourse during their periods and have you heard anything about it being dangerous?

 There is no extra risk of infection during your period than not on your period. You're not bleeding from a vein, like a cut. It's not fresh blood. Your friend has no idea what she's talking about.

Sex is too much fun to stop for such a minor thing. I think it enhances the pleasure factor with all those hormones flowing.

If your gonna have sex on your period may I suggest in the shower? Outside yeah I'm sure you could probably get some sort of infection. On a plastic sheet probably not but it just seems nasty laying in your own blood plus the tissue debri every other thing that comes out.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 October 2009): good for u guys the only thing i can tell u about is dat since there is blood present there is bacteria and blood is something dat can attract bacteria growth so there is a possibility of infections to you and your partner any changes in your normal ph balance by bacteria can cause infections but its not necessarily dangerous u should jus keep clean so go ahead!!!

 no way! My guy likes it any time of the month. Any time of the day. Any time we catch the kids gone...you get the picture. Never, ever had any bad side effects. 27 years and counting... ;)
