At least where I go to school, girls are always hugging girls and they are also constantly hugging their boyfriends. Also guys will hug guys and also they go and hug their girlfriends. I think that in general teenagers enjoy hugging and cuddling because we are very emotional and also our social lives are very important to us. Hugs are a great way to show our friends/bfs/gfs how much they mean to us. So yeah, to answer your question, no, I think lots of girls AND guys really like hugs, but also lots of girls AND guys don't. It's all personal preference.

 It's completely down to the individual, loads of guys really love cuddling. so with your love of hugs it's really great you've found someone who likes them as well.
But there's not really an answer as to which gendre prefers hugs overall, so just enjoy the cuddles
