 Yes of course it is ok to carry on with the distance. It depends really on how strongly you feel about one another. Without knowing how far you are apart, and how often you do see each other its a tough one to answer.
But ultimately distance relatioships do work is both people are ok with it and are strong enough to handle the time apart.
