A female Canada age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I have known the fellow who lives across the street from where I live for about four years now

Over this span of time he has invited me in several times for coffee is very polite and entertaining yet most recently something has changed and he has over the past several months been trying to get my attention more often so I started to visit more often, also he said some pretty strange things a few times one of the statements he made was "I sure could use a wife to help me do dishes" or "if you forget something you can always come back" or "Boy my rent's way too high I could sure use a room mate" and he is always offering me books to read yet today I went for a visit for coffee and he moved a tiny bit closer to me when he handed me the book that I was to take home with me yet near the end of the visit he began to mention another female which he said he had to drop off her stuffed animal and that she might be angry at him!

Is he trying to decide between me and this other lady I am confused yet he isn't being secretive he has always been above board he is the type to say what he thinks out loud. I really am fond of this man he is quite interesting and unique funny and very independent I wish he wasn't too shy with me as I know that he is very attracted to me and I think he considers me as his best friend in the female realm and yet I do not know how to move forward very clumsy situation any ideas???

YummyMummy agony auntAsk him out!

I think its clear you two like each other and like justice says I don't think there is another woman. Maybe he's saying it to make you feel jealous or jump in to action.

Say something like "Oh, there's a movie I'd love to go see or a restaurant I'd love to try but don't want to go on my own".

Good Luck!
