writes:Im sick of being so quiet and shy around people - I hardly speak to people even my own friends and only seem happy and chatty when Im drunk. People like my boss, some friends, and ex-boyfriends seem to take advantage of me because I must come across as weak byut inside Im actually angry about it but I just dont say anything. I have everything going for me in my life which should make me a confident person but Im not. What can I do?

Don't rely on alcohol to give you confidence boost-that will lead to an over reliance and possibly addiction.
How about joining Toastmasters to get over public speaking. How about taking drama classes? How about joining some club that will help you gain the confidence and social skills you seek?
The desire is present now all you need do is put it to action by a healthier means.
Is your lack of confidence correlated to your childhood? Have you thought you are just a private, introvert type of person?
We each are varying degrees of personalities in situations and around those we know and feel comfortable with. Age may play a part in this.
Have you thought of joining some support group?
