Question - (5 November 2007) 2 Answers - (Newest, 5 November 2007)
A female United Kingdom age 16-17, anonymous writes:

hello,

My mum had a problem when giving birth to her second child,(my sister) her insides got all mangled and she has had severe bowl problems ever since, getting worse and worse, meaning she cant be too far away from a toilet.

I hate seeing her getting so worried that she might have an accident when simply going down the road. It kills me.

I want her to be happy and have the life she wants, but after seeing many a doctor, it seems almost impossible to be corrected.

I need some help on how to help her out.

Any would be great xxxxxxxxxxxx

Fade878 agony auntI think it is admirable and stirs the heart to hear of such love and devotion that you have for your mother.

I believe by such a statement, you are already as much help as you can be. You probably help without prompting, to tend to baby sis to give Mom a rest.

You probably help out with chores around the house, don't fight as much as to when she asked for help.

You are there for her to hold her hand, give her hugs, smile, and bring joy into her life.

It is unfortunate that this has occured.

I think with time, your Mother will accept that it is just a way of how things are for now, until medicine catches us to be of better assistance.

I don't think people would be devoid of compassion should such an instance occur. It is not because of laziness-it is beyond her control.

She may just have to keep a change of clothes, wear some depends, and know where washrooms are that she can take care of herself. It may just mean more work.

Do you have local family and does she have supportive friends?

You are doing your best to what you are capable of.

I'll ask my Mom about this, she works in a health centre for a family friend who is a doctor. See if there are other cases and what the people did to deal with it and if anything else could be happening.

*hugs*

babewithbrains agony auntI think that your mum should go to pregnac classes, you know, where they do pelvic strenghthening exercise, this might help, becuase it strengthens your bowls, and when my mum had me she did them and can stop mid pee (yuk) which I find really hard but there you go.

Luck to you and your mum, and your sister!
