 I agree with Caringguy.
It is time to set your BF free, you obviously don't care for him as much as he cares for you. Staying in this relationship is not fair on him, nor on you.
As for obsessing over another guy. Well if could be that you like unavailable guys. WHY? Because it is easier then having to deal with someone who really care about you.
What is it about the guy you obsess over that is so hot? The fact that he doesn't want you? Or what? Stop torturing yourself.

I think first of all, you need to make the decision to end things with your boyfriend. The truth is, he is just not the guy for you, and you know it. So please do the right thing and let him go so he can find someone else who does love him. As for this other guy, you need to end all contact with him and move on. Focus on your own life, have some adventures in your life and find out who you are. The guy for you is still out there. Neither of these two guys is right for you.
