A male age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ive been talking to this Lady online for quite a while now, I feel I know her pretty well. The problem I have is that I dont feel my family would understand if we started dating due to three factors: Im 16(nearly 17 and Im quite mature) and she's 26(nearly 27) and She lives quite a distance away (over seas) and the other being we are from different cultures/religious backgrounds. Im a little confused whether to pursue things further as I dont know how my family will react to the situation .. Any advice would be appriciated, Thank you!

DrCynic agony auntThe important thing to consider is what you want to do... What works for the two of you?... Discuss it with her, and come to an agreement.

Best of luck.

Jamer70 agony auntFirst you have to remember that the internet is a place where people can pretend to be someone different.

Knowing that since you never put your country of orgin down you may have to think about her taking advantage over you, seeing as your quite young. Excluding these your parents will proberly not except this seeing as its a stranger to them as she lives overseas and could be anyone. My advice is to not continue things anyfurther than they are for a year (18). Then if you trust this woman go from there
