DrPsych agony auntStretch marks usually show up in the teen years as a result of rapid weight loss or weight gain. Drinking lots of water sometimes helps with their cosmetic appearance, but pregnant ladies often rub water based creams into their tummies when they are having babies to help with stretch marks...not sure if it works but you could try using cream on your stretch marks? I had some on my legs a few years ago and they faded with time so try not the worry - your body is still growing.

ariel agony auntUnfortunately stretch marks are permanent in the sense that the skin in these areas will never be completely normal. However, after a time they contract down into much less obvious, thin, whitish scars. To prevent them avoid yo-yo dieting, if you are overweight aim to lose it slowly(1lb/week). There are creams that claim to improve stretch marks such as coco butter ,collagen creams and there is lasers that are used to treat stretch marks at an early stage, when they are still red.And last resort surgery for stretch marks around the abdomen –the operation is the tummy tuck(you will be left with scars around the belly button and across the lower stomach).
