 Been there, done that. My current girlfriend, it took me a while to realize what I was losing, when I let my pride and stubbornness get in the way of our relationship, not a day went by that i didn't regret leaving her for those reasons. If he doesn't realize it now, than he will. Best thing to do is not wait for him to come around, move on. If he comes around; than move from there, other wise I'd say don't waste time, hun.

If hes that stubborn to be willing to let it get in the way of him and the girl he loves then really is he the type of guy you want to be with? He sounds pretty damn stubborn to me and this will cause issues later in the relationship. Perhaps its a bit of a pride issue too? Depending on why you guys split, its hard to make judgements here...maybe you could give us more info?
