 Some people can live with lies and betrayal, some can't! i think it depends on the individual and how they can live with themselves keeping this sort of thing from an innocent partner.
Plus most keep it a secret because they fear losing everything, which makes you want to question why jeopardise it all in the first place?

reader, anonymous, writes (4 April 2009): I'd say it depends on how your partner found out. For example if the person you are cheating with is not a family friend told your wife, then deny it. You can say how she was after you, stalker etc etc
If you were seem by a close family member then really all you can do is come clean and beg forgiveness and do every thing in your power to show your wife how sorry you are. Be understanding and be prepared to take all her hurt and anger as you caused it.

 I suppose it depends on the guy. I know plenty of guys who seem to live by the "deny till you die" standard. It isn't right, but, guys and gals alike don't always seem to want to live the honest path.
