I think my friend wants some space, how can I let her know I understand that?

A male Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

hi people,

I want to apologise to one of my best friends. She means a lot to me, we worked together all year at uni and we seemed to form a very strong friendship quickly. During this time we went out a couple of times for lunch etc.

We talked on msn everyday without fail, but now i feel that she wants a bit of space because she will ignore my messages from time to time.

I asked my friend what I should do. He said to give her some peace for a while.

I have taken this onboard but I want to apologise to the girl for pestering her all the time. Would it be best to do this over the phone or msn. Bare in mind that she has gone back home so it is now very difficult for me talk to her face to face.

What would be the best thing to say to her? "i respect your space and i understand that I talk to you all the time. I'm sorry for this..."
