Hey all,

I'm just wanting to know gift ideas (preferrably comments from girls). I have a good friend I have known for almost 4 years. I've always liked her a lot, but thought I was out of her league, about this time last year I found out she has feelings for me too. Long story short, nothing major has happened, because her life is really complicated, and she says she really needs stay away from bf/gf relationships for a while, and she really didn't want me to think it was me because thats the last thing she would want. She said she just really needs me as a friend for now. Which I can understand and have accepted, which a lot of my friends (guys) have told me i'm an idiot, saying I should have ignored her and still pursured etc..

Anyway lol sorry for the long story, it's her birthday coming up next week, and I thought it might be nice to get her something. Being the typical guy I really havn't bought presents for friends in a long time unless for 21st, big events etc. She is the kind of girl that doesn't like cheesy jestures, like flowers etc (well thats what she tells me i think). She said one of the best presents she ever got was a diary someone made by hand, out of off cuts and that. My question is should I get her something, and if so what? I just don't want to seem like i'm trying to get back in or anything, although I still have feelings for her, I respect her decision, I can't force her to go out with me. Or should I just give her a nice card, or do you think she would like flowers, i don't know. It's quite hard as she was the one I would always go to for advice on this kind of stuff, lol, how ironic. Any help would be great thanks.

scythe agony auntMake her a card, with a pic of her pet/fav pic/hobby on the front, or even a pic of the two of you. She seems to like gifts that have sentimental value and are personal, so dont buy a generic card. Its hard to recommend a gift for a person like this because we dont know her likes and dislikes. Make it something personal though.
