This isn't a relationship question...but I know people on here have great advice and go through similar experience. (this questions for girls)

Basically I'm on birth control to ease my periods and make me have them only 4 times a year. Now I've been taking them for I want to say...3 or 4 years or so, and just recently I missed one pill for the very first time. I missed Tuesday's pill and I wasn't sure what to do so I simply took one on Wednesday night and just continued with the week leaving the one I missed still in there.

Now it's Saturday. And since missing that pill my body has been acting as if I'm on my period and I still have another pack of pills to go through before I get my period again.

My question is, Is this normal? (again, I've never missed a pill before so I don't know what usually happens)

I've been having awful cramps lately that seem a lot worse than the ones I get during my actual period. For instance, during your period, cramps usually come and go in waves. Well just yesterday, (Friday) I was at work and the cramps would not come and go. They stayed and never fully went away. So basically I have had excruciating cramps for the past 2 or 3 days and now today the cramps are still here. I don't know how long this is going to last but it's making me miserable and I can't talk to my doctor because I'm at college 5 hours away from my doctor.

I really just want to know if anyone else has missed a pill and what they went through afterwards.

person12345 agony auntYou're usually supposed to take the skipped pill as soon as you remember, even if you take two in one day, it should say in the packet.

If you are nervous call a pharmacist or call the doctor. They will probably be able to help over the phone and let you know if you need to see a doctor. You can also go to the health center on your campus and ask the nurses. There should be doctors nearby even if they aren't YOUR doctor.

I'm not sure if you're also using this for birth control, but you should use a back up for at least 7 days after this (maybe the rest of the pack, consult the booklet). If you don't have the booklet that came with your pills, it will be online.
