I have a sexual problem and my doctor wouldn't help me. I almost feel like I'm imagining this as my doctor wouldn't help me and he basically said it was in my head. It's so personal that it's difficult to explain or see anyone about it. one of my testicles basically doesn't seem to be connected, ever since the age of 16 I noticed a difference when I masturbated. Suddenly at this age I didn't feel stimulation on the left side of the penis head, but I did on the right side. Before 16 I felt it on both sides. When I orgasmed from then on, there was less. There were surgically placed there at about the age of 3 due to being a premature baby. I just don't know who to turn to, as when I went to my doctor he said it's impossible that I could know and nothing could be done about it. As far as I'm concerned though it's quite obvious that one testicle is no longer connected. As good as orgasms still are and always have been (i'm 27 now and have had good sexual relations), I KNOW there is a problem where the sperm from one testicle doesn't make it from the testicle into the penis. Who can I see about it if my doctor won't help?

I can't believe it's not possible to sort this out. Any males with this problem, would be great to hear from you, thanks.

my boyfriend currently going trough a similar thing, although he knows the cause and now has had an operation to perfect it.

Some men are born where the testicle isnt connected to the scrotum internally, later causing a 'testicular torsion' meaning the insides of your testicle get twisted together and cause lack of blood flow to the testicle,if an operation to correct does not occur in 6 hours of this happeneing, theres a high chance that the testicle will die & have to be removed.

This case is most commen in males aged 10-20,but can also occur in males upto the age of 30.

No one completely knows the cause of this, but cases have shown that similar things can be passed on from father to son,so more than likely in your genes.

The operation involves the surgeons sewing the testicle to the wall of the scrotum to avoid it happeneing again.

Your doctor telling you there is nothing wrong is quite odd,as anything remotley strange occuring in a mans scrotum should be checked out staright away. This may include getting a scan of your testicles, feeling them,or even minor surgery just to make 100% sure,as with looking after your testicles is a very important thing,& can mean whether or not you have children later on in life.

As this question was posted 2 years ago,im sure you have already found this out,but i hope my answer may help anyone else out searching for an answer to this question.

Take care. xxx

if u truly believe there is something wrong u could go to your surgery and demand u want a scan like maxsteel86 says, explain that it is causing u significant psychological problems and distress and u would just like to be PROVED wrong instead of being slighty reasured as u just don't buy it. u no ur body not anyone else, GPs can be a waste of time as they are not specialised in anything so just go on what they think at that time. be strong and say the 'care' u have received is not good enough, if ur GP still won't refer u then make a complaint and go to a specialist. ( u could also ask your GP to write a note of ur visit and what was said and what treatment or help he offered just incase it comes to making an official complaint)

DrPsych agony auntI work in medical research and therefore I can tell you from personal and professional experience - some GPs are great people and some are diabolical. Your GP will not have been trained in sexual health beyond the basics and is merely a gatekeeper to specialists. You need a referral to a sexual health/ urology specialist and this is where some internet research comes into place (find out who is the consultant for men's health at your local hospital). I don't think A&E will help you - they may do a ultrasound, find nothing and throw you out as a non-urgent case. You need a range of tests that are performed by a urologist in most hospitals - urine, blood, sperm count and a scan. A GP told me my fatigue and headaches were 'all in my head' in my 20s, and all down to me 'reading too many medical books in my occupation'. Two years later I found out I had 6 different medical conditions, was developing cancer and I am now on tablets for life. My point is that I would have never known if I had not persisted, changed GPs and found someone sympathetic to refer me for tests. I suggest that you either change GP (find one who specialises in men's health - often listed on practice websites) or go to your local family planning sexual health clinic (often there is no need for an appointment) as they can check you over and refer you into outpatient clinics for further tests. Before you go, write down a list of your symptoms as your mind may go blank when you are faced with a doctor explaining an embarrassing problem.

maxsteel86 agony auntMy GP is worthless S.O.B too thats why I never go to him. Just go straight to your local hospital's A&E department complaining of some pain in your testicles. They'll give you a scan and will be able to spot the problem real fast and help you out with it. Hope things work out for you
