I have since learned that was because she remembered how exciting it was with another guy when they did it on the floor when a bit drunk.
We typically use 3 basic positions - missionary, cowgirl and doggy. Many times we use all 3 in one session. We also occasionally use 4 or 5 other positions. Doggy is even better on the floor, as it allows the guy more control than on a bouncy bed. My wife and I both like it both places. She likes it better on the floor after she has had a glass or 2 of wine because she likes me to be a bit rougher then.

 It is just nice for a bit of variety. I wouldnt want to do it everyday, because as some have already mentioned the view and impersonality. Also, I feel I dont get to participate in the act as much then. All I can do is accept what is going on. I cant caress, kiss, etc to be actively involved. However, I do find it pleasurable on occasion. I find, personally, that bending over the bed is kind of nice, but to really enjoy it my pelvis has to be much higher than my head. That may sound strange but if I am on my knees I let my shoulders drop to the bed. If we are doing it standing I practically bend over double. This feels really good! I dont know why! And helps make up for the impersonality of the act.

Or also I turn my head to see my boyfriend's face; I also think it offers deep penertration. But I wouldn't reach orgasm through this position so we get that over and done with first usually which means he can choose whatever position he likes afterwards. I also really like the fact that my boyfriend enjoys it so much.

 I guess its a question of each to their own. Not my absolute favourite either but it's good for a bit of variety, a different angle of attack. There are after all only a limited number of ways that two human bodies fit together and if you were to ignore all the different doggy possibilities then you'd be missing out a significant part of the overall range.
Some particular plus points:
- the shape of a woman's back tapering down to a waist can be one of the most beautiful sights around and no better way to appreciate it.
- the sensation of bumping up against a nice cushy bumper is really quite different from coming in from the front.
- by being able to grab hold of a woman's waist and thrust and pull at the same time you have a little bit a double action going on which, again, is a different feeling.
- yes there may be an element of depersonalisation which can help some guys. It's not that we don't love you but sometimes we need a little objectification rather than having our face up against yours telling you that we love you.
- for those guys who wish they were getting some anal sex but aren't, well they can pretend that they are.
It basically comes down to variety. We may like to wear the same old clothes and sit in our favourite chair but when it comes to sex we're programmed for variety and novelty. I'm nearly 40 and frankly it can take a long time to get me to come - no joke I wish I could get the whole thing over in half an hour - but sometimes you find a new position or a variation and the whole thing is over in no time.

Guys like doggy style because they can achieve quite deep penetration in that position and they can thrust a bit deeper and faster. They also get a great view - they get to see their "members" going in and out of their girlfriends like their own personal porn movie with them as the star!
Girls hate doggy style because: Our "great view" is one of the wall or the carpet - we would much rather look into the eyes of our beloved. Deeper and faster thrusting is not always the most comfortable thing - some of us find it downright painful (porn movies get it sooooo wrong!) And, above all it does not give the poor woman enough clitoral stimulation to achieve a satisfying orgasm. You can always try additional stimulation using fingers or a vibrator but since you need to keep your balance (what with all that extra thrusting) you might end up falling off the bed if one hand is busy.
My advice is ensure you have your orgasm in a different position before he does and then switch over to doggy style when it's his turn. Or save it for the occasions when you think he's taking too long!
And if there are any girls out there who really love doggy style (and I'm sure there must be some) I'd really be interested to know what you like about it.
