I desperately want to lose weight! Do I make myself sick or what?

Recently, I've been contemplating making myself sick.

I've been trying to lose weight for about 3 months now, yet I've been feeling really depressed recently, and feel as though, if i was thin, it would be one less thing for me to worry about.

I don't know what to do, I want to be thin, but want to do it properly, yet I also want feel as though my desperate attempts aren't working.

I'm quite an insecure person, and recently a boy at school (whose best friend I'm completely in love with) has been telling me that his best friend would never want to kiss me.. and everytime I walk past, he says eugh.. or eww.. or god.

I'm going on several holidays in the summer, and want to look amazing for each one.

hello, i have been in the same situation! i used to be a size 14-16 and i was so depressed!i tried many diet tactics but none worked so i resulted in stuffing my face then being sick. now im a size 8-10 and still think im fat and desperatley trying to lose weight so no matter what size you are making yourself sick will only make it worse and you won't be able to stop.i've recently found out personality counts a lot and if depressed you won't be your normal self it will make you so unhappy with yourself and others! that guy is so not worth it either. i know where you're coming from because i have tried to impress a guy and it does not help you from feeling unhappy.

I will tell you this dont even think that making yourself be sick is the perfect solution if you want to loose weight do excercise eat a balanced diet you dont need to make your self sick

Hi there, dont make yourself sick please. There are much healthier ways to lose the weight, if you dont mind taking a few pills and replacing 2 meals a day with a tastey shake or smoothy type drink, then we can help, I would almost guarentee we can. I have lost 10kg in 3-4 months and feel great, I have a back injury and cant excersise the way most people would, I have so much more energy and am not as depressed as I was previouse to losing the weight, however I still have about 10 more kg to lose to get to a healthy weight range, but I am on the right track. hey hunnie .. i was a RELLY chubby kid .. i was neva happy and no matter wot anyone else say u r going 2 have to learn 2 love ur self. go out shoppin buy cloths tha make u feel and look gud wen ur gettin ready in a morning tel ur elf u look GOWJUS b 4 u leave and little things like tha .. i hate healthy eating and i crnt say i do alot of it hehe .. but ill walk insted of gettin a cad or bus. helps jus change little things lik in sted of a choccie bar have a glass of warter and sum nuts .. not as nice but hey! hehe .. cook ur own food as wel .. ull enjoy cookin and and ur keepin buzy or less time 2 eat hehe .. jus do thinks u lik .. ie go iceskating or swiming .. even if u swin ur 10mins and play in the warter ur still excersing hehe .. all u have 2 do is do ur hair and nails lil make up and sum nice clothing tha make u feel good and away u go if u feel tha u look gud and confadce will show other people will see at and what it more attractive then confidace? .. jus tel ua self ur beautiful ALL the time hehe .. even wen ua jus about 2 go sleep hehe .. ALL women are drop ded gowjus sum in different to others .. but baby girl .. jus drop wot every 1 else says .. walk out ur door EVERYDAY with ur hed up KNOWIN u have the best lukin leg on ur block or best lukin hair .. hehe .. everyone has summet EXTREMLY BEAUTIFUL about them all u have 2 do it let ths 12 thing standout jus cuz 1 girl has a slimer waist line 2 another doesnt mean she has better legs hehe :) keep a smile on ur face at ALL time and ull feel the differancee baby girl .. and still im not the thinest girls but i love my body because i now i have sum good features .. all u have 2 do is find urs .. keep on smileing and stay blessed love me .. hey

listen dont be so stupid you are going to make ur self very very ill if you carry on thinking that making yourself sick is the best option. I have been makin myself sick for years and i am not happier now!! When i was in school i did the very same thing and i made myself very ill! trust me you dont want that i know what it feels like and you dont really want that! turst! and this boy and his mates tell them where to go! if you want to loose weight do it for yourself not for them! you are so much better than that and you need to realise that befor you even try to loose weight as it will make you more upset and depressed! trust me i am only 18 but worrying about things like that are silly and you need to consontrate on yourself instead! do it right for yourself and show them that you are made of something and not just someone that is easily pushed around!!

ive also been trying to diet for a long time, i cut out all fatty foods, done alot of swimming ive dropped a dress size in one month i am still dieting and trying to cut out as much fat food as possible, if your bodys not use to exercise try simple exericises like walking and swimming, hope this helps

Hi. Please know that life will be much, much, much better when you get out of school and are an adult. Don't make yourself sick, and try not to pay any attention to that boy. He is "sick" himself! I don't know how old you are, but once you are out of your teens, you will feel much better. I know this doesn't help much now, but I used to feel the same way as you, and now I am 33. Also: consider adopting a vegan (no cheese, no milk, no meat, no eggs) diet. I did and now I have very little difficulty managing my weight and appearance. There are tons of vegan alternative foods (vegan chicken, vegan burgers) that only take a little getting used to. Good luck.

Firstly why on earth would you want to make yourself sick????? do you really want to Look like one of those repulsive size zero women? that is what will make this guy say yuk! He is a young lad and im sure he is just showing off in front of his friends thats what guys do. put yourself first for once, dont think you need to lose weight for him, he sounds like a complete jerk! do this for you and just imagine how many guys will be checking you out on your holiday when you go. you will look amazing when you follow the diet i am doing. Your hair will be shiny and healthy your skin will glow and the weight will fall off! You are a beautiful person and weight can be shifted i would know i used to be a uk size 20 im now a uk size 14 which is all done through eating the right foods plenty of fruit and vegetables and cutting out eating junk food like crisps chocolate and refined carbs like pasta and bread. If you want to eat these things try wholemeal bread and wholewheat spaghetti and wheat free pasta like rice or millet pasta. (health shops) just cutting out these things will make a huge difference to your lifestyle and give you so much more energy hence more energy to make you want to get more excersise. Go for a walk in the park with your mates or go swimming or cycling or go for a jog. do you have a pet dog? take him for a walk or take a family member or friends dog out. do a work out dvd anything just to get yourself out of breath for half an hour at least 3 times a week will make all the difference if you cut out nasty foods. you wont actually lose weight making yourself sick your body will go into starvation mode and weight loss will almost come to a standstill and then if you carry on not eating enough nutritious foods you will suffer malnutrition which will eventually lead to you losing your hair and even making your periods stop making you infertile and you may never have kids. so please think before you do anything stupid. a weight loss plan that will most certainly make you feel 100% about yourself is the gillian mckeith diet go to www.drgillianmckeith.com this is the diet i have been following and dropped 3 dress sizes in 8 months. Please give it a go. Im 31 im sure you being young will make it all the faster. so think before you harm your beautiful body. you only get one, look after it!

chunkymunky agony auntit sounds to me like you are on the brink of having an ED (eating disorder) so you need to stop thinking in this way as soon as possible because once youre in that rut it will be hard to get out of it without professional help. People who really matter will love you the way you look already and Im sure you dont need to lose shed loads of weight to feel good, its all about self acceptance and loving yourself for who you are inside. That guy sounds like such a pig anyway! Dont worry about him, because its not worth all the pain and hurt. You are better than that :) Hope i helped a little xx good luck!

first of all dont make yourself sick to be thin. it really doesnt help, when you throw up the acid in the vomit passes through your mouth and the mosre you do this, the more it will rot away your teeth. and even if this did work, would he want to kiss you if you were smelling of sick?

dont alter yourself for a guy, coz even if he is attracted it wouldnt be for you, it would be for something fake.

dont focus on weight, but there are plenty of effective diets that im sure would do the job better.

be with someone who makes you feel comfortable, not someone who makes you need to be "beautiful" im sure your a beautiful person inside and out.

xxxsoulsistaxxx agony auntYou cannot go to these extreme measure to try and get thin. Everyone will tell you not to and you probably won't listen but you really must: these are quick fixes and ruin your body so it's impossible to lose weight in the future. If you make yourself sick or do other equally silly things to your body, you will ruin your metabolism (the rate at which your body breaks down food) and, in the future, you will not be able to lose weight no matter how little you eat.

Your body is a precious thing and damage done like this can be irreversable. There are many ways to lose weight, not of them easy, but they can be healthy and satisfying and you'll look great in the end. Healthy eating (not silly diets), joining the gym, walking the dog, playing sports etc are all good ideas. Go to the library and read up on what to eat and what not to eat. Learn some exercises you can do everyday or maybe work out once a week.

When you're on holiday, wouldn't you rather ber radiant and happy than anorexic, pasty, blotchy and moody? These are just some of the awful things that happen to our bodies when you abuse them like people with eating disorders do. Things like this can spiral out of control so fast too. Maybe talk to a counsellor if you can get to see one.

As for those boys at school, they're pathetic and you need to ignore them. I hate the fact that so many girls and women judge themselves by what others, especially males, think of them. It's stupid: we're all beautiful and worth so much more than that. Don't let them push you into ruining your body forever. You need to sort your confidence levels out (something a counsellor could help you with also) and prove to yourself you're beautiful the way you are and are worth so much more than some snivelling runts at school!
