A reader, anonymous, writes (23 January 2008):

In a way, its not fair to him OR you. But so is life. It is never fair. Fair is where little pigs go to win pink ribbons. If he loves you, he has already thought about spending the rest of his life with you (and everything that comes with you).

Don't worry so much about whether or not this is fair to him. Concentrate on what a blessing it is to have someone in your life that loves you and the steps you need to take to make it work.

Even if it doesnt work with this guy, most people can walk, and chances are you will end up with someone who can. Try your best to not bring up your disability, instead, try to display the positive abilities you do have...the things that made him fall in love with you (ie funny, smart, caring, compassionate, sweet, down to earth etc).

Midge agony auntI dont think someone that is disabled is something that one can put a label on if they are in love with you.

If this guy loves you, and its real love, then any disability no matter how severe will not phase his feelings for you.

Stop thinking about it and get on with loving this guy back. Stop putting a label on yourself as disabled because at the end of the day, you are a person too!
