A male reader, Tommy7 United States +, writes (9 October 2007):

A good 17 year old boy wouldn't date a 14 year old girl. A 14 year old girl should not date a 17 year old guy. This is a reciepe for trouble.

Hi there~

Anon., you are 14 and tho 3 years difference doesn't seem much, trust me it is when your a developing teen (including him!).

Emotionally and intellectually you are seeing the world a lot differently to this guy.

Enjoy his admiration, but put the brakes on the dating.

Seriously, at least find out if he is interested in you as a person. Does he want to find a friend in you? Can you rely on him when you are having a difficult time? Does he value you as a person? Does he encourage you to believe in yourself? Does he respect what is important to you at this time in life?

hope this helps,

talk anytime,

char
