It is all a bit trial and error. However if you both tell each other what feels good and when the other has got it right, then it will work out. Each person is a little different so what feels right for one will not quite hit the spot for someone else.
I do advise you in wanting to pleasure him, do not forget about yourself. While there are a lot of selfish guys out there who do not really care about how to please their woman, there are also a lot of guys who get really turned on when they know they have really turned on their partner. So make sure you tell him when it feels good for you. Also, don't fake it. A lot of guys can't tell, but some can and it never does well. It is all about you as much as him and if you fake it you are cheating him as well as yourself.
One last thing, respect the delicate bits and only get rough with them if he tells you clearly that is what he wants.
