Hey readers,

So I'm 14 and I'm not to happy with how my body ! Everyone says they wish they were me but I believe they say this just to say it . I'm skinny but I'm not super skinny. Lets just say I'm thin. My matabilism is very slow so its hard for me to gain weight ! is there anyway that I can gain weight ? If not how do I feel good about myself . People say confidence is faking it until you believe it but that doesn't work !

natasia agony auntYou don't understand what it is to be overweight (thank goodness!) - which is why you don't appreciate being thin.

Ok, I have been there - but you need to start to understand, or think about, the fact that things don't always stay the same. When i was 17, I remember lying in the bath, looking at my totally flat stomach, and wondering why there were so many magazine articles about keeping your stomach flat. Why ever would it not be flat, I thought? Two children later, I know why!

The thing is, being able to eat what you like and still being thin is a real, real advantage for you. I have been thin, and I have been a lot fatter than I want to be, and I can tell you, you feel so much better when you are thin. Your body feels better.

Please learn to appreciate what you have, as you are lucky. Try to take pleasure in how you look. And remember - nobody ever makes fun of thin people, or thinks badly of them, but people often make fun of or treat differently people who are over weight. Please try to relax about how you look - I am sure people are honestly not saying they wish they were you just for the sake of it - they do wish they were you.

Learn to appreciate what you've got now. Don't be silly and try to get fatter - it sounds as if you have a body to be proud of and happy with. Love it.

tennisstar88 agony auntYour metabolism is high at your age that's why your not gaining it..not because it's slow..Don't work out, start eating more fatty foods than usual..McDonald's will make you gain weight quick, eat more carbs pasta, sandwiches, no skipping meals..If you think you're underweight or may have an eating disorder then you need to see the doctor if you are at a normal weight for your age. They will give you the best advice!
