A male United States age 30-35, *nimalsmart writes:

hello everyone. so there is this girl i like a lot, but i dont talk to her a whole lot. we've had a small class together for the last two years. i recently started to message her on myspace and she just stopped replying to my messages. i gave her my number but she lost her texting before she could txt me. she is very friendly and sweet. we both have first hour off so we both hang out in our chinese class. however, i don't say much to her because i am scared to. she is a senior, so i dont have much time left. should I ask her for her number and call her just to talk, or should i talk to her in person? im bad at talking on the phone, as well as talking in person, so both ways i need to try....hard.

youre help is greatly appreciated. sorry its long. :P

You should ask her for her number and then call her the next week or so and ask to hang out, but you have to call it a date yet if you don't want to. Then you can go somewhere that is easy to have a conversation at.. like if you go to a movie, you could get ice cream or dinner afterward and talk about the movie, and find things in your lives to relate to the movie and learn more about each other.

And that's also where you can somehow work up the nerve to ask her if you can make it a date next time (if it wasn't one). It sounds easier to me at least then sitting in a classroom, not really having anything to start a conversation about.
