reader, anonymous, writes (4 May 2011): Yes you can but I doubt they will. However it depends on your doctor. If they believe that you are getting the pill for sexual reasons then they have to report that if you're below the age of consent.

OP I don't think a doctor is going to believe your reasons because you won't tell your parents. It is best if you tell your parents about it first and get them to go in with you to get the pill. You see most doctors will find a girl under the age of consent asking for the pill without her parents knowing as a sign that she's hiding something and is in fact sexually active and doesn't want her parents knowing. If it really is for the reasons you suggest then you should have no problem telling your parents. I don't think a doctor is going to buy your reasons.
You see a doctor has a duty of care to report things like sexual abuse and sexual assault, even if they only suspect it. Giving a girl your age sexual contraception behind your parents back for the reasons you state doesn't seem logical.

But if I were you I'd discuss this with your parents and if you are sexually active or intending on being so soon, then you really should talk to your parents about that too.

 You need to see a doctor. It looks like where you are you'll need a parent's permission since you're under the age of consent. Try explaining the reasons to your parents and hopefully they'd go with you.

 I don't know how it works Down under, but most places you have to see a doctor and get an examination before getting birth control, if you are under age ( under 16-18) you have to have your parents consent.
I'm not sure how many doctors will prescribe birth control to a 13/14 year old jsut to help with their skin/control periods, unless there is a medical reason.
But like I said I am not familiar with Australia.
