How much communication should I expect?

Tagged as: Long distance<< Previous question   Next question >>
Question - (12 December 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 12 December 2011)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I used to text every day and talk on the phone at night daily. We do this because we can only see each other on weekends because he lives an hour away from me. In the last couple weeks, I noticed that he doesn't text as much and on some days he even skips calling me because he's busy and he texts me to tell me that he will call tomorrow night. I am not sure if that means our relationship is hitting a plateau. This prompted me to wonder how much other couples communicate with each other. My case is a little different because we don't see each other during the week. But I am wondering what's a healthy amount of contacts in a 5 months relationship.

thanks in advance!

aunt honesty agony auntEvery relationship is different and everyone expects different levels of communication. I can understand why this is worrying you. But am sure missing a day here and there with no contact does not mean that the relationship is dying. He could just be busy. If you expect to have the contact everyday well then you need to talk to him about it and tell him how you are feeling.
