Question - (29 January 2007) 1 Answers - (Newest, 29 January 2007)
A female United States age 41-50, *cared to trust writes:

I have been single for three years, and have met the most amazing man. Or have I? I have been in one bad relationship after another, and my last relationship resulted in my infant son dying. My question is, he told me loved me and i love him to, but how do i know? I have a really hard time trusting people and im afraid this is going to come between us. What can i do? I really want to be with him and i think he wants to be with me, im just not sure.

A female reader, cd206 United Kingdom +, writes (29 January 2007):

cd206 agony auntFirst of all I'm very sorry to hear about your son and it's no wonder you're not feeling trusting after that. I think you're a lot like me and you're naturally attracted to guys who aren't very good for you, and then when you meet a good guy you can never decide whether he's good or just good by your standards (I don't mean that in a bad way) The only way to know is to take this relationship slowly. Tell him about your past experiences and warn him he'll have to be patient with you so that you can come to terms with everything that's happened to you. Hopefully he'll show you that you can trust him given time. Good luck.
