 If you don't tell him now, you're not going to break his heart, but you're going to lose him completely. He may just have bad luck, or he may have some issue that I don't know about, but either case, you need to tell him now. One part of marraige is accepting the person through the thick and thin, through richer and poorer. You've shown that you're not ready to do that, and I think that he deserves someone who is.
