From the beginning, let them know that you arent interested in relationships at the moment. Any guy who still responds will be clear of this and happy to talk to you regardless.

If someone offends you or are says something you are uncomfortable with, block them right there and then.

Just make sure you are careful, never give out your last name, where you live or what school you go to.

kittikat agony auntOh yeah, one more thing...Just to harp on how devious and gullible we humans are- About a month ago, I created a fake myspace page, complete with location, photos, stories, etc...It took me about 2 days of complete psycho-like dedication. I did this to see just how easily people would fall for it. Kind of like my own social experiment. Well, I put in a random high school name, selected one and started contacing people. Can you believe that within 3 days, I had at least 20 people saying "oh yeah, I think I remember you" and then proceeded to tell me their life story since we supposedly graduated (7 years ago) VERY SCARY that people will give so much of their personal info out. I could have been a serial stalker and now I know their address, some gave me phone numbers and schedules, and pictures of their kids? Geez. Sorry, just had to push the scariness on ya. You're a prime target for crazies simply for your age. For the record, I deleted my fake myspace account on the 4th day :-)

kittikat agony auntWell, what impression are you trying to give. I'm going to tell you that from what I've seen, the forum tends to dictate what people will expect. For example, I logged into Yahoo chat and ended up in the Romance rooms, didn't mean to honest! Well, I couldn't figure out why all these people started talking dirty to me until I looked at where I was. It just depends on where you're at. If you're not looking for romance or dating or whatever, tell them that up front when you first start talking to them. If they're looking to hook up and that's it, they'll probably leave you alone. I don't know, I'm not a huge expert in this area, but from what I've seen-it seems to work. Be really, really careful too! My 16 year old sister was talking to this guy online for EVER- like a year or two and I guess through conversation, he was able to figure out who she was and he turned out to be like 50 or something crazy like that. Also, look at this-I'm sure you've heard of it but worth a good look:

You NEVER really know who you're talking to. If they start to give you problems...block them, change your log-in, etc...Please be so careful. There are so many scary people out there. Good luck!
