Firstly so what if they call you gay? You know if you're gay or not...it's just like any other insult...do you worry if people call you stupid? I would hope you don't because they're just trying to hurt your feelings. Just ignore them is the best bet..we've all been through it.
On the plus side, having girls as friends is quite good for when you're a bit older. You already know them really weel so there's more chance of a possible relationship happening there.
As for the girl problems, just email her every now and again and just chat about whatever you guys chat about. To be honest she probably doesn't want a long distance relationship, but you can still be friends.
As for the shaving thing just tell your dad. Say you want to know how to shave since you've gotten some facial hair now. I was a bit younger than you when i started shaving..i developed early..hehe...but yeah, it's a proper dad/son bonding thing. He'll just show ya and leave you alone.

 I have a bestfriend exactly like you, just ignore it, you know who you are, if others cant accept you for that then dont bother with them. Secondly the girlfriend sounds like she doesnt want a long distance relationship, have fun, meet up with other girls, ect, and just have her as some-one to talk to. Or you could just call her and ask her why she hasnt been calling you anymore..
Just say to him that you want to start shaving can he teach you.
