How do I react to my dad's taunts?

A female Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am 19 years old, a few months back I had a night out with my girlfriends and came home at 2 in the morning, since then my dad has been taunting me about it every day although he didn't shout at me the day I came home late.

I don't understand... is it that wrong to come home late just once? I was not even drunk plus I was with the guys and not girls. How do I react to this, my dad is acting pretty silly!

He's jokingly being an over protective dad because he was worried sick that you were out with a group of MEN till the early hours.

I think you can make him understand by being silly back.

When he does it, just look cute and say "oh I'm sorry daddy! I'll stay in and play with my dolls next time instead." then laugh and kiss him on the cheek and gently point out that you are not 9 any more and are being careful and having fun.

Good Luck!! xx

Your dad is just doing his best to watch out for u. He was probly worried sick when u weren't home and doesn't want to lose u. I suggest talking and reassuring him that it won't happen again.
