A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

my boyfriend of 2 years and i broke up about three months ago.

i have been fine, i suppose. but recently, i have not been able to stop thinking about him!! he is constantly in my thoughts! i think about him basically every minute of the day, i dream about him and think about him before i fall asleep and right when i wake up. its so freaking hard on me and i dont know how to get him out of my head!!

i miss him sooo much, its ridiculous. i still love him and wish i didnt. im constantly in tears. we havent really spoken or seen each other since we broke up three months ago and its tearing me apart. we didnt break up on bad terms and agreed we would be friends, but he has not contacted me and takes days to reply to my emails or text messages. this makes me sad since we spent 2 years together and now he seems like he doesnt care about me at all.

what do i do?? what should i be thinking! i want to move on so badly.

I totally know how you feel. I also came out of a two year relationship, three months ago, funnily enough.

After two years, its hard adjusting back to life without a partner. Its completely normal for you to think about him alot. But I promise you it will get easier. There must have been a reason why you split up, so bare it in mind that it wasnt a mistake breaking up.

It may also help talking to a friend who has been in a similiar situation as only someone who has been through the same will truly understand.

Don't be pressured into dating again for a while as you need time to heal.

Think of your relationship as a nice chapter in your life that ended at the right place at the the right time. Now you cant start anew.
