A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

too early and she didn't see me that way. I must note that i was kind of being pressured into it which is another thing but i have never told her this.

From then to few months = akwardness, couldn't even look at her or talk to her but during christmas hols we slowly started talking and hanging out and things were good until she thought I liked her, maybe because her friends kept bringing me up into their conversations which I admit I did again and she backed off me again... just a little and this annoyed me so i told her friend to tell the girl i liked that i didn't and she started to talk to me more.

Lately, we hung around even more than ever and got even more closer, I realised that even though i do have feelings for her, i really appreciate her as a friend (even though I would like more) but I've accepted that now... but one day after getting off the bus my best friend goes up to me and started to talk about her in general and i opened up to him about my situation at the beginning of college saying how i regretted asking her out and would take it back if i could and would just like to hang around with her cause i know i really enjoy her company and she enjoys my company too but after this my mate goes on msn and talks to the girl i liked telling her everything i said and even asked questions like if she thought about when we kind of fell out at start of college she replied

and like i thought that i might of led him on and i felt bad and when he asked me out it just made things awkward

so i tried to like keep my distance a bit to kinda make it easier

but that also like made us not so close as friend

and then he tells her about things i opened up telling him like stuff like

"I would of been really happy and I knew he could make her be happy, feeling special and everything giving her like the attention and stuff"

and she replied saying things like :S i feel really bad and ever since then her body language has been realy negative towards me, she turns away and looks away when usually i see her on the bus and she doesnt smile at me anymore or even look at me, even though she knows that i don't like her anymore. Its easter holidays now 2 weeks, what do you think i should do in the next 2 weeks and especially after hols when i see her in college because i want us to be really good friends like before and i think she feels the same but she's just going through that awkward phase. Would really appreciate the help and sorry for this long message lol

Love_is_all_youu_need agony auntHey :)

I'm sorry to hear about this situation you're in. I'm in a very similar situation, I told my guy friend last year that i was in love with him whilst i were drunk at a party, and he made it very clear that he did not like me in that way (by email and basically just made a load of excuses) and when we went back to college, it was extremely awkward (we sit next to each other in lesson as well, so it was even harder) and we barely said a word all lesson and we were both just fiddling about and tapping our pencils and stuff.

Then at the end of the lesson, i called of him and told him i was really sorry and that i made such a fool of myself. After then we slowly began to get back to our normal selves around each other, but there was always that tense feeling between us and it has never really gone away - even after 6 months! But then recently the past has been brought up again and someone told him a load of nonsense about me, saying that i stalk him etc. Which is a pure lie and this person made me out to be some kind of freak.

Therefore, me and him going through an awkward patch again and i've been very offish with him because apparently he's been slagging me off (because of what he's heard from other people) and we just arent the same around each other anymore, it's awful!

I just want you to know that i'm going through a similar situation, t.

All the best xx
