OP being able to to deep throat is like being able to do a front flip. It looks cool but it has no practical use at all. Hand on the shaft and go to town on the head with your mouth/tongue.

 You shouldn't be putting it far enough into your mouth that you gag. The most sensitive part of the penis is the head and that's the only part that really needs to be in. Sure it can feel good to go deeper, but that's not the main part of the blowjob. Just suck on the tip (slightly past the tip usually) and use your hands on the shaft.
