How can I make my Mom trust my boyfriend/best friend?

Question - (17 April 2009) 2 Answers - (Newest, 17 April 2009)
A age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello!

My mom doesn't like my boyfriend at all. She doesn't trust him. He broke up with me once for a day and I was shattered, but even before that, my mom never liked him, back when he was just my best friend.

Any tips on how I can make her see that he's really a great guy and that he makes me happy? I love him, but I'm not ready for my mom to know that, so how can I show her who he really is but without being TOO obvious?

Thanks!

A male reader, just wondering United States +, writes (17 April 2009):

moms have great instincts.

you might not think of all she does for you and how much she worries about you but pull back and trust her.

If she hates her have your guard up cause one thing for sure is she has been there for every fall and kissed it and made it as good as she could.

Ask her if he can come to the house and play cards with the family.

if you do family things ask mom if he can come to and be as friends around them.

if he does not want to or your mom does not want to you are infatuated cause this is who you are. Your FAMILY
