 Internet relationships rarely work out in the real-world because the artificial world of computer correspondence allows your imagination to run wild about the possibilities. It maybe different for you however. The only way to find out is by meeting him - albeit safely by taking a friend along or something like that as he could be a 55 yr old serial killer for all you know. Chemistry is something which develops from face to face contact and a computer is no replacement.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 June 2008): If the guy's in the same age range as you (18-21) there's a high possibility that he's interested in something other than just friendship. What he's after is anyone's guess but I would assume he'd at least like to meet up with you. I think proclaiming any kind of "serious" relationship without having physically met would be silly tho.

 It's really hard to say, long distance relationship can be an hassle sometimes.
It's more painful than anything else since you can't really touch the other person and stuff.
I don't suggest it to anyone.
