A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I really like this guy who goes to my church... He is my good friends older brother (only a year older than me). when she found out i like him, she took my phone from me and texted him from it so that i would have his number cuz i was too afraid to ask. he texted back the next day and we texted everyday until church that sunday. on sunday, we went and hung out with other people from church and we ate lunch and went to a movie.. he seemed kind of into me, he sat by me the whole time and we talked a lot. then later that night he texted me and said he wished he would have talked to me more when he had the chance... we texted eachother everyday after that and we saw eachother at church on sundays and wednesdays.

last week he asked me if i wanted to hang out with him and his sister and her boyfriend. we had a great time! he said he had a lot of fun and then on sunday i hung out with him from 11:00 am (when church started) until 10 pm. we hung out at his house and watched movies and played games... it was super fun! and on monday he chatted with me on facebook and we talked for a while and then he said he had to go because he had a huge paper to write for school but he would text me later. he never texted me again that night and the next day he only sent me one message and it said good luck, because i had a game that night. then on wednesday at church we didn't talk much at all. on thursday he didn't text me so i figured it would be okay for me to text him because he always texts me first, when he texted back he didn't seem very happy to talk to me. he usually has cute things to say and he always puts smiley faces in all of his texts. but this time he didn't... he just had blunt, straight-forward, and not very interesting replies.. then on friday i didn't talk to him once and today i got on facebook and i looked at my online friends and he was on but he got off right away... he always chats with me when we are on at the same time.

I really don't know what is happening... he was sending out soooo many signs that he was interested but then all of a sudden he just shut down... i am going to see him tomorrow at church but i don't know what to say. any ideas what i should say or why this is all happening?? thanks.

A reader, anonymous, writes (24 October 2010):

This sounds like shyness here and thus probably an insecurity he has. So, talk to him about it and assure him its okay and relay your feelings towards him clearly face to face so that he will genuinely see how you feel and will therefore be more apt to reciprocate the same back to you. Good luck.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (24 October 2010):

Have you considered that he might be shy? Perhaps he really does like you but he's not sure how to show it and if he's REALLY religious then he might be feeling guilty about liking you. Try and draw him out of his shell a bit more, it might be good for both of you.
