reader, anonymous, writes (3 August 2009): I don't know what the laws are over there, but here in America the absolute worst case scenario is that you get caught and charged with public lewdness, which could potentially result in you having to register as a sex offender. For that reason, if there were any chance of being caught, I wouldn't; the idea of neighbors being warned that I am a sex offender when I move in is just too horrifying. But if the penalties don't extend so far, it might be worth it.

 There are a number of possible charges that can be issued by the police. These include public indecency charges if found by the police (or recorded on CCTV), to on-the-spot fixed penalty fines for anti-social behaviour that can be issued by the police or police community support officers. I rather suspect it would depend on the sense of humour of the police officer, where you got caught and how much they needed to catch up on their crime performance related targets. If you really must do this, go somewhere VERY remote where you won't be caught. It would be very embarrassing if you ended up named in the local newspaper for this sort of thing!

Emily's right, if you're in a secluded spot there's very little chance of being caught. However, that may defeat the purpose, since I'm guessing that the whole thrill for you IS the risk of being caught. You're an exhibitionist, it's not uncommon.
I read a news report recently about a couple being slapped with a three-month suspended sentence for engaging in fellatio on a fairly crowded train. However, they were a pair of decrepit alcoholic junkies with numerous other convictions, and probably didn't look too pleasing to the other passengers. Had it been Brad and Angelina, there may not have been as many complaints.
My own experience of this so far (it was indoors, but it's the same deal) doesn't extend any further than forgetting to close the curtains, then noticing this and deciding we didn't really want to close the curtains. Two girls eventually passed by and stopped to savour the procedings, they seemed to be VERY impressed if totally gobsmacked, I confess I enjoyed it, and so far, I haven't heard anything from the police. The perfect crime!
But I think that'll be the first and last time. I wouldn't expect to get away with it on a repeated basis, and I wouldn't advocate that you break the law. It's up to you. Weigh up the risks and rewards. If you can prove you're of good character, no-one is going to lock you up and throw away the key.

If you get caught then you will run the risk of being taken to court for public indecency. If you are in court then you can be named in the local press. Especially if you get caught in a funny place.
My advice is that if you are going to do it, do it somewhere really secluded and really fast.
Or don't do it at all!
