 4 weeks thats a bit too long! well 141 his number then hes bound to answer speak to him and ask him whats up why havent you heard off him in 4 weeks. make sure you 141 it first or else your number will come up on his phone and he may not answer. then secondly if no luck on 141ing his number 141 his moms mobile or his dads or who ever else has gone with him,and ask to speak to him. one of them bound to work.

I agree four weeks is really a long time for him not have contacted you. Has he contacted you at all since he got to malta? I am guessing that it could be anything especially if u didnt have a fight before he left. Perhaps there is a family emergency or something dont be in too much in a hurry to jump to conclusion until you can confirm what is indeed going on.
Have u tried sending him an email?Also, Perhaps u can try calling him instead of texting . You can get an international calling card it is cheaper, so that u can confirm what is going on. Let him know that you are worried becos u are yet to hear from him.
I really dont know what else to say.Just try to relax.
