A female United States age 30-35, *kyBright writes:

What should i do? My friends keep throwing me at him, saying that we should go out or something. Everyone says that we'd be a perfect match. I mean, yes, i like the boy, but it annoys me when they tease. It makes both of us uncomfortable, although he takes care of it most of the time. It actualy amuses me most of the time, the way the make their lame exsuses. Yes, i'm sure we like each other, but my friends throw me at him - literally.

I hang out with him a lot. I know that's the reason why they think we are together. If he wants to do something and take our friendship a step foward - fine. But I need to know if he wants to do so.

It makes me jealous to see my friends be happy with each other - they have their perfect match. My little group of friends has an even number of boys and an even number of girls. The choice I'd have is him. Sure, I'd love to take the relationstep foward. But, like I said, I need to know if he wants to.

In our own ways we flirt and make jokes with each other - we are one of the 'smart' people in my grade of school. We hang out at the park with our other friends, we live near by. (Our town is in the middle of nowhere.) It's almost summer and I hope this'll be the best summer of all so far. Neither of us have cellular phones but I have his house number and his email.

Our current relation ship is extremely friendly. We sit next to each other on the bus every day. Couple of odd looks sometimes, today his little sister turned around and asked me why I sit with every day. my simple answer was, "Because I can." Was that just an exsuse? I mean.. I really don't know.

Last year in school he always looked at me - giving me that look. We were both in the higher level in everything. (This year in my grade they just mix us up, except for math class.) I usually sat really close to him - right by him or across from him. He's very smart and I get clumsy around him, a LOT.

Yes - I'm an extreme klutz. But smart, and absent minded. We go to ther park, as i said before, every day. Unless he has soccer, or baseball practice/games. In order for me to get to the park, i walk down the street for a little bit, cross, keep walking and turn into the stone church's drive way. (His house is the second house over from the stone church) so i cut through his backyard. Like that one time, i appeared from around the other houses' corner and three seconds later he appeard, running out the back door towards me. Was it fate, or was he watching out for me?

He has a barn and game tables up there. Like air hockey. We go up there sometimes, just us. I really like it when we are alone, not his pesty little sister, or his two older ones. (He has four sisters, no brothers.) We have our alone time a lot, yeah.

Do you think we could have a chance? All of my friends think we should go for it. But either of us won't admit anything.

PS: I'm sorry this was long, but you had to get it all so i could get a great reply.

Thank you for your patience.

Just go for it. There have been so many girls I have liked but not done anything. If you don't try you will always wonder what will have happened. It sounds like he might like you also. There is no harm in trying.

good luck
