Do males find red hair a turn-off?

Just a quick question, because I'm beginning to get paranoid:

Do males find red hair a turn-off? Will he reject a red-head if she asked him out, because of her hair colour? And if you have been asked out by one, did you oblige, and were, or currently are, in a relationship with her?

I am also interested in knowing if red haired men are considered as attractive as red haired women, because I do understand that they do sometimes struggle to obtain a relationship more than a woman would, though I may be completely wrong.

Your views and feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

There is a stigma attached to red hair but fortunately for red haired women it is less so than red haired men. There's quite a few factors to this and mainly it boils down to sociological views... and that is something were men and women differ greatly.

Men do choose women based on looks and red hair isnt a problem in that scenario, it can be as attractive as any other hair colour. There was a survey done in Hartford University, they picked an extremely good looking woman and an extremely handsome man. They sent them out into the university to talk to other students of the opposite sex and ask them after a few minutes of getting to know them, if they are free that night to have sex.

99% of the men the women asks said yes.

100% of the women the guy asked said no.

even though this guy was more better looking than most of the women he asked he could not find one to say yes to him.

You could say they said no due to the stigma of not wanting to be branded easy or a slag. But it could also be that even though we are all are pre-designed to seek the best physically genetic looking mate possible to have children with, it is more in a woman's interest than a man's to give her children the best advantage in life. That is why stonger broader men are more sexually attractive to a women than other male body types 10,000 years ago that type of man would have given her the better option of protecting her and her children from danger and been able to hunt and kill to provide food. Whilst men are naturally hunter-gatheres, women are naturally social creatures, designed to keep clans, groups and families together with warmth and comunication.

But in todays age, Its Also why successful men and men with wealth are attractive to women, it enables her to give her children the best things in life. All these things dont even cross the mind of a man, who like previously mentioned in other threads, judge on looks initially and predominantly. you cant say only, men have advanced a long way too.

so at this moment your probably thinking red haired women have a tougher time than men right? wrong!

main reason is that there isnt anything less attractive about red haired men or women!! Sure, people in life always a preferred colour, but its a small factor. There isnt one straight guy who is going to kick Kate Winslet or Nicole Kidman out of bed!!

But where are the red haired hollywood male hearthrobs? there seems to be plenty of the women... Why isn't there even one of them? Surely there are men with the same chiseled looks of Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise but with red hair? of course there is!! But they don't get anywhere near the big screen! They will be overlooked for parts!

And this is down to sociology. And the reason why it is harder for red haired men to find love than red haired women!

Has mentioned before a women wants to get the best mate she can based off many factors that will enable her to get her children the best life she can provide.

Burdening her children with the stigma attached to red hair, the bullying, overlooked for the main part in the school play, being the but of all the playground and teenage jokes.. its not attractive on a social level. And women weigh a lot of importance in being socially successful. that is why a lot of comedians or just funny witty men in general can pull women far more attractive than themselves.

The only way i can ever see this changing is if Bond became a ginger and red haired men got to play leading roles in Romantic comedies. Unfortunately society is cruel beast!

First off its not all about the looks. You can become attracted to a person after getting to know them and discovering compatibility. Not to say that looks aren't involved. I personally think red hair is very attractive but its different for each guy. Some things that turn me on could completely repel the affections of another person so you'll just have to test the waters and find out. Best of luck,

SirenaBlusera agony auntDon't be paranoid. In Spanish, we have a saying: En gustos se rompen generos. It means that there is not limit to people's preferences. I do think that men tend to be more visual, but there are loads of men who love red-headed women. I'm a woman, and what attracts me to guys is the chemistry, as well as their "forma de ser" (or, the way that they are as a person). I love latino guys, and there are lots of handsome ones, but what I love best is that they tend to be romantic, sweet and passionate, a magic my culture lacks. Dark hair is nice but it's the "je ne sais pas quoi" that attracts me more than a tangible quality.

Heres my take on it, i think red hair is less desirable than the other colours but hair colour makes a very small part of attractiveness, most of it is in the face, body and smile.

By the way since last year i have been finding red heads very hot!

Redheads are *very* attractive, please don't be worrying about that! :-). The redheaded men seem to do as well as the women - it's a rarity, and an attractive one.
