 I used to have really long hair. Never liked it being played with. Now I have short hair, same story.
I like a girl's hands on my head, or most any other place for that matter. But if it's not a prelude to sex (or at least really, really steamy makeouts), I'd prefer my hair be left alone.

As for the question, I think it depends on the guy, some guys do and some don't. My fiance loves it when I play with his hair, it lulls him to sleep all the time.

 A few of my ex's haven't necessarily liked having their hair played with, but they have LOVED having you scratch their head all over!! just lightly mind, but they all said it was really relaxing, especially first thing in the morning when they are sleepy, or if they wake up in the middle of the night.
My last bf used to wake up in the middle of the night after having a nightmare, and i would scratch his head and back to help him relax and get back to sleep.
