Did I do the right thing by ending an affair with a married man? I know we could be soul mates.

A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I'm so confused.....I am a horrible person and recently went out with a man who I knew was married. We had fun for about 2 months and neither of us could end it. I did however after realising that he was starting to fall in love with me and I finally woke up to the fact that I could destroy his wife and their 3 children should it continue. I also ended it after meeting his son whom I have got to know really well these past few weeks and knew I couldn't hurt him should he ever find out. Before you think I finally did the right thing it has dawned on me that I actually deeply care for the son and know that with time we could easily become soul mates, best friends and worst of all maybe more. I'm totally torn and don't know what to do for the best.... I know what I should do but my heart is saying something completely different. Help, what's your advice??

You weren't soul mates at al. Married men very rarely leave their wives. Your head is right. Get away from him, or you will end up very very hurt in the future.
