Could my pubic hair be off-putting to guys, even though it's tidy?

A female , anonymous writes:

I have pubic hair insecurities.

I am an attractive 23year old girl who is confident with my body, however I am afraid that my pubic hair could be unattractive! I know this sounds dumb, but how important is it to a guy?

I wax my bikini line to keep it tidy (though I would never have a brazillian) but I worry that it is two coarse and also, as I have auburn hair it is a red/ brown colour- is that off putting?

I have had a few sexual relationships and have never had any bad comments... but still don't feel that happy. Is it a big deal?

If she gets #2 in her hair she's wiping in the wrong direction. And as for the guy with the 20 incher, anyone who is so well endowed must be well aware that 14 inches of it is going to waste.

The Martians landed at a motorway filling station and immediately took off again. Apparently they took one look at the diesel pump and decided they didn't want to mess with any guy with a 12 foot long dick that he stuck in his ear when he wasn't using it . . . . .

That is absolutely repulsive....You may be a beautiful girl, but no amount of beauty would make me touch a hairy *****. That's so manly and sickening, I mean do you shave you armpits and legs? do you think about how every time a hairy girl wipes all the pee and #2 that gets caught in her hair which makes bacteria multiply at a rapid rate especially since hairy girls get so warm and sweaty down there. I could go on, but nobody except for weird fetish freaks would want to touch or even look at Saddam Hussein. Get rid of it doll.

A male reader, he Kuwait +, writes (23 July 2009):

hows this for a thought...

how would you like to go down on a guy and have hairs poke in your nose and face, or even floss with the pubes?

now, how would you like a guy to go down on you and stab his tongue and lips, poking in his nose and face?

moderation is best. not too much, not too little. just like you wouldnt want a 20 inch in you because it would be a pain not pleasure.

In my experience, many girls have pubic hair, most keep it tidy, some shave all of it off. Me personally i dont find it unattractive so long as its kept tidy. If its like a forest then i guess it can be but otherwise no. I wouldnt worry about it. Some men find it attractive.

no i think pubic hair is really sexy i love the way it feels. nut unfortunately many other men disagree and so alot of women find it necessary to get a brazillian.

It's all up to the guy. And besides, if you're in a relationship and feel like you want to keep your pubic hair like your guy wants, why not ask him?

I prefer a nice, full bush myself. Bikini line shaving's ok but nothing turns me off like a shaved pussy.

Yes men vary ALOT with pubic hair... i had one boyfriend (mr A) that implied to me he liked clean shaven (now to me its a bit pre-pubesent!)so i shaved it all off.... of course he loved this...but one time we were about to have sex spontaneously and it was a bit stubbily (did he think it wud be smooth all the time) and he couldn't get hard... my current boyfriend (Mr B)really doesn't care... i trim it for my own well being but if you meet a guy such as Mr A... he isn't worth the trouble..don't worry about it.

dont shave it off for god sakes, nothing worse than going down there and having the image of a 10 year old! lol

however, it always is good to of course keep it trimmed.

anyways, dont worry so much about such things!

keep it real!

If anything, the colour of your hair can be an advantage. I have golden auburn hair, and have had many cheeky comments from guys curious as to what colour I might be down there. Some Men have a bit of thing in their head about Natural Redheads going off like a fire cracker in bed!! Just love yourself as the unique and rarely hued individual you are.

if you feel its too coars them condition it with hair conditioner to make it soft and a trim every now and them . the colour is not important believe me it's the last thing on their mind , it's whats behind it that matters to them. don't worry you are not the only person to worry about this, if you haven't had complaints before then stop worrying. keep confident

A reader, wwww.datinghaven.com +, writes (23 September 2005):

Lets split guys into 2 groups...

THE JUST WANT SEX PLAYER TYPE (sadly all guys are stereotyped like this):

They want a fuck and dont care about things like that

THE CARING GENTLEMEN TYPE:

They love you for you and not your pubic hair, they wouldnt mention it as it would upset your feelings

so in both cases its not a problem!

But i have to question your way of thinking...

First of all everyone has insecurities so im not criticising you for having them, i have many, so does many other people.

You should try to PLEASE guys by DRESSING WELL etc. and even your actual PERFORMANCE in SEX, theres no need to worry about things like that, and it is personal preference...if a guy reli loves u then he wldnt care if u were natural, tidy or bald. Only the non-serious type would bring up such issues, so dont worry!

A reader, anonymous, writes (21 September 2005):

It's nice to keep yourself trimmed and neat which is your preference but keep in mind, you're the one who should feel comfortable, so if you're happy with your pubic hair the way it is, you shouldn't change it just because some guy encourages it. Be happy with who you are. That's most important.

There are women and men who could care less, or don't think twice, about hair down there. But from what I've learned, the majority of men prefer a very neat, trimmed look, some favoured the "bald" look, a very small minority like the natural look. Color usually has no bearing, as long as it's neat and tidy.

A female reader, tatiana +, writes (21 September 2005):

What helps is a little baby oil. Try it after a shower - it will feel so much smoother. Public hair is the last thing guys worry about. They might but it deffinitely is the last thing. You could find out in your relationship to a man what it is he likes or doesn't by asking indirect questions. All man are different - I have heard some man like it very very hairy also. Just make sure you like it and be comfortable with it.

If they enjoy being with you then they wouldnt mind what is going on downstairs anyway. If you are still unsure then ask him. Men like myself only care that its kept tidy but if I like the girl then I dont much care about the state, as long as I dont have to picl them out of my teeth! lol.

A reader, Rebecca Batchelor +, writes (21 September 2005):

Rebecca Batchelor agony auntI believe men vary in how they feel about pubic hair. Some like it to be there on a woman, some prefer her to be almost bald down below (if not entirely hairless). It really is a personal preference.

Just keep it neat and tidy. Many men love auburn hair so don't worry about that. Trim it regularly but be very careful when doing so.

Anyway, at the end of the day, if the man you are with is concerned about you having too much pubic hair as opposed to other qualities that you may possess, then he is rather shallow as he should be recognising your attractive looks and lovely personality.

Please don't worry about it.

harshbutfair agony auntIt's no big deal! If it's brazillianed and kinda neat, then you've done better than the majority (I'm guessing, but maybe I've been unlucky) of other girls who just go au-naturel.
