honkifuluvnicole agony aunthey girl.

Im 16 now and didnt get my first period until I was almost 14!!!! Let me just tell you, that was magical! Periods are the worst thing ever!! So enjoy the time you dont have it!!! And you really have nothing to worry about babe, it WILL come whether you like it or not. So take advantage of the time you have left where you are period free.

Good luck.

A female reader, Lesley +, writes (10 November 2006):

Every girl is different and matures at different ages. I have worked with children and young people for many years and have found some girls start as young as nine and others don't until they're seventeen! Talk to ur Mom about it. She's been there and done that! If she's not very approachable then talk to ur friends. Some of them are bound to have older sisters. Ur periods are with u for a long time and when they start u often wish they hadn't!

Lemonpixie agony auntWell it differs in each person i was 11 personally but i had friends at 9 and some at 15 that got their periods it's never a set thing however if you have sisters or ask when your mom got it, it may be similar.

Ask your mom or guardian or auntie about it and also

b3x agony auntHey honey,

I would say initially go talk to your mum, she'll tell you everything you need to know about them and also give you some idea when they will start, when she started hers may give you an indication when.

Look at that website though, it tells you everything about periods and what they technically are!

I think though this website is more for your age babe, it tells you everything about periods and other stuff which is useful to know.

hey

you should get information about periods and girls stuff at school at the end primary school. you could also talk to ur mum or a lady adult that u can trust. dont worry eveyone starts their periods at differnt times and all the changes are normal. u can look on the internet for all kinds of information that surrounds the subject. everything will be explained properly to u very soon dont worry.

take care
