writes: Sorry this is pretty gross but I have thrush but my bf gave me oral sex anyway. I kissed him afterwards and ended up with a yeast taste in my mouth like beer. When I realised that this taste was the thrush discharge I began feeling ill, and have done since. Basically i was wondering if the thrush discharge can do you harm if you swallow it, or if it's just the thought of what it is that has made me feel unwell. Again, sorry this is really gross.

 You can pass thrush from your bits to your mouth - oral thrush is not nice as your face swells a bit and your mouth can get a bit nasty inside. It is not always the case that thrush is transferred this way but it is a risk - get some medical treatment for your 'brewery' problem down there. You should also be aware that thrush comes out when your autoimmune system isn't 100% as it is an overgrowth of fungus - i.e. when you are feeling run down or a little under the weather your body cannot keep it under control so well. When people are first diagnosed with diabetes - thrush is often one of the first symptoms that drive them to the doctor. My point is that you should have a routine medical check up and make sure you are eating right and getting lots of sleep. You should also make your BF aware of the risks. In some stages of active thrush, it is transferrable from your bits to his...therefore condom use maybe a wise idea until you get it sorted out.

 You should go to your nearest sex clinic and get treatment for your thrush otherwise it will become uncomfortable. Also thrush can be transmitted to your partner during intercourse. It is easily treated and very comman. The discharge you tasted will not harm you. I think you just felt nauseas because of the the taste and the thought that it was coming from inside you. Dont worry hunny you will be perfectly fine.

 Are you taking medication for the thrush? If not, get to the doctors or pharmacy and get it sorted. You can get thrush of the mouth so maybe there's been some kind of transference? Maybe the thought has grossed you out and that's why you feel physically ill? It's not a good idea to engage in oral sex whilst having thrush though, so maybe you need to get it cleared up first.
