Your ex doesn't want to come get his stuff because he still has feelings for you but doesn't want to act on them, so he'd rather avoid an encounter. Tell your ex his things will be on your front lawn for him to come get at any time he pleases. Be strong, don't let him manipulate you. Don't badger him either. Men hate that. So throw his crap out the front door and give this new guy a ring. Even if it never becomes anything serious, at least it's new and refreshing. Good luck to you!
