writes:Sometimes I feel that it is just a waste of time crushing on somebody, because in the end, he just won't like you. It's not even because I don't have confidence in myself that I have a chance with him, it's just that I see him with interacting with other girls (not romantically), I can picture them together and they honestly will look so much cuter and better together than say, me and him together. So at what point should a person just give up on a crush?

reader, anonymous, writes (11 April 2008): Don't give up on a crush! Boys are hopeless - they have no idea when somebody fancies them - they are notoriously bad at picking up the signals! He probrably doesn't even see himself as the object of somebodys desire! I'm sure he'd be flattered if he knew. Get a friend to drop a subtle hint. Don't ever put yourself down that he looks better with other girls. Anyway, things are never as they seem. Imagination plays a funny trick with us all at times. Just be yourself, smile be pleasant, get help from a friend and see how it goes.
