Are stretch marks a turn off?

I will be giving birth to my first child soon, and plan to start working out and getting back into shape, but I have horrible stretch marks on my thighs and my backside. I used all sorts of creams and lotions thorought my pregnancy, but they are still really bad. I used to have a A+++ body , and while I understand that I will never have my old body back, I don't want my boyfriend to be turned off by all the stretch marks on me. If he has seen them already, which he probably has, he hasn't said anything, but hes a nice guy like that.

Any thoughts?

It doesnt matter what you put on you will always get stretch marks, that is how our skins works i afraid. I have a few when i didnt even put on a stone in weight during the pregnancy and i covered myself with loads of oils and creams. Your bloke wont even notice mine, i know i have never know mine to ever mention them. You will always look and be beautiful in his eyes. stop worrying and enjoy life!!!

take care

Oils & creams do not work. I have a 6 mo. old baby & I bought this expensive oil that is specifically made to prevent stretch marks. It didn't work. I got them everywhere. But that is part of having a 9 pound baby..some ppl. don't get them at all, and that is due to the size of their baby, the elasticity of their skin & heredity. They fade over time, so don't worry. My husband says they're not bad, that it's in my head.

kenny agony auntPersonally i don't find stetch marks a turn off, they are all part of having a baby and your boyfriend should realise this. Im sure he loves you loads and has probably never even noticed them.

If you are really worried about them there is a product on the market called Bio Oil, and its supposed to really good for stretch marks. A girl in my office said she used this and her's went. Also Palmers cocoa butter with vitimin E is also good.

Take care x

My partner doesn't have any stretch marks at all, or if she does I certainly can't see them.

The way she prevented them was to liberally apply baby oil as often as possible and to pour some into the bath every day all the time she was pregnant, from about the 2nd month onwards. She was the chemist shop's best customer for the stuff for several months, but it worked! With your planned exercise regime etc I'm sure you won't have them forever.

But to answer your question - no, they're not a turn off, it's what's on the inside that counts!

Hon, I think "stretch marks" on a woman who has just carried "our" baby for nine months because she wanted to, would be the last thing that would ever turn me off. Tom

I have two children and was covered in stretch marks throughout my pregnancies. I tried special creams with my first child and I dont believe any of them worked.

I didnt use anything with my second child and my marks are hardly noticiable - infact I think I notice them more than my partner, they fade to nothing, it just takes time.

Im sure once a beautiful baby is on the scene, stretch marks will be the least of both of your worries.

Hope you have a comfortable pregnancy and a wonderful motherhood.

love-him agony auntHi babe, stretch marks are part of life. If your boyfriend gets turned off by then let him. You have tried very hard to get rid of them. I agree with mandy7.. Keep adding cream onto them and they may ease up. I hope i helped,

Hi Hun,

Ive had 3 children and as I got bigger with all of them I noticed stretch marks, When I had my son at 20 he weighed in at 9lb 3oz hunny im only and always have been a size 8 after about 6 weeks of running around with a new baby and taking care of my body I was left with no marks you could notice, Which supprised me, I used coco butter all through my pregnancys even after my daughter was born at 36 I though well thats it this time, I have very few that only I notice.

Just keep popping on that cream and im sure your partner will be over the moon when your child comes along, Plus he loves you so dont worry so much, you are young and your taking care of yourself, your body will bounce back into shape congratulations to both of you with love MANDY xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
