I cant help but feel i am small for my age and cant find a reliable source on google to clarify that im not.I cant help but feel veryone else towers over me. i get really frustrated about it cus im almost in danger of becoming overweight.will i have a griwng spurt? ive never had one for as long as i can remember and people 2 years younger than myself tower over me. next to my friend i feel like a small fattie. no girls me for this, and i hate it.

reader, anonymous, writes (20 March 2008): buddy, dont worry about it, actually, i think your above average, when i was 11, i was 5'4, and i thought that was to tall, at 14, i believe 5'4 is above average, 5'2 is usually what height you should be at 14
if you have a tall person in your family, father, mother, grandfather, etc... you might be growing quicker than others

 5 4" at 13! mate your taller than i was at your age. And considering your age i think your quite tall. I was around 4 10" at your age. Now im 5 8" and 17, ive grown to be ok with my height, taller than most girls, shorter than most guys. Plus i like being shorter. But other than my life, your 13 you still got years to grow so dont worry

reader, anonymous, writes (7 December 2007): Don't worry too much about your height, I was the shortest in my classes around your age, then 2-3 years later I had my growing spurt(?), now i'm 6"something.
Although, this will be different for everyone, so don't take this to heart, but remember, the short people wish they were tall, and the tall people wish they were short.

reader, anonymous, writes (7 December 2007): I'm 5'4 and I am 26. It was only an issue for me back when I was a teen only because I wanted to be a model so bad. And the shortest you can be is 5'7.
But it is definitely not an issue in terms of anything else. I mean in my neck of the woods it is not short at all and it has definitely not stopped me from getting guys and having friends. You are petite. Alot of guys like that and as long as you have a strong personality and are intelligent you are fine. I promise you that unless you are trying to be a supermodel or you need a certain height for your career, it is not going to hinder you in any way, shape or form. You are FINE.

 Don't worry, you're young and will prob grow more soon. My friend who is a guy was always shorter than me (I'm 5'3) until last year when we turned 16. Now he towers over me a bit (at 5'8) and that kind of thing has happened to a lot of my guy friends.
Trust me, you'll be proud of your height one day, no matter how tall or short you are. Feel better.

 I don't think that 5'4 is short, considering your age. What you have got to remember is you have got approximately another 6 or seven years of growing left to do yet. Those ones that tower over you now will probably hault in a year or so, and you will put a spurt on and catch them up, or even grow taller than them.

 well 5"4 is quite tall for your age im 4"11 and im 19 i wish i was a bit taller but everyone is they way they are for a reason and you should be proud so no more wanting to be taller just because your freinds are taller than you that doesnt mean people will like u or look at u any less than they will your freinds
