I am a 15 year old girl, 5ft 10, and weigh 150 pounds. My parents say I'm overweight and that I should exercise more although I lead a healthy lifestyle, I exercise daily, I eat healthy. If there is any advice, how could I decrease my measurements without doing too much or too little of any of the things that I already do?

Try a website that has a height to weight ratio chart.

if you do find you are overweight or feel you want to gain some body confidence try swimming as it uses almost all the muscels in your body at one time. Also, to get a flat stomach don't stop eating but try doing 5-10 sit ups a day over 2 weeks. I used to be size 18 but by doing these excercises for a year and a half i have gone down to a healthy size 10/12. it is hard but if you feel like giving up just think of all the long term benifits!!! good luck.

you are not overweight. your BMI is 21.56 which is ideal. that doesn't nesicerily mean you are healthy but if you say you are leading a healthy lifestyle yo are probably fine. i suspect your parents are just saying that so you keep to a your healthy lifestyle.

I typed in your height and weight to get your body mass index, and it said that you are right in the middle of normal weight. You are not overweight at all. Normal BMI is 18.5-24.9 and you are 21.5, which puts you about in the middle of normal weight. It seems like your parents are just two people who are very hard to please. Can I ask you this? Do you have a big chest? Some people think that people with big chests are overweight just because they have big chests. I don't know if this is the case with your parents, or if they are trying to make your chest smaller, or what.....

Hi,

Your parents are wrong, you are not overweight. It's very important to eat healthy and get a reasonable amount of exercise for general health. It's also important to maintain a positive body image, attitude and outlook on life no matter what size or shape you are. Please see a counselor and a medical doctor. The counselor with help you with keeping your relationship with your parents in proper perspective and with any healing you may need to go through from the mental trauma (intentional or not) your parents are inflicting and the doctor will asses your general health.

TasteofIndia agony aunt5'10 and 150lbs doesn't sound overweight at ALL to me. You're a tall girl... if you don't mind me asking, do you also have a large chest? Because boobs add to weight, you know.

If you're eating well, exercising, and making smart, healthy choices I don't think you have anything to worry about. I think your parents are the ones with the problem!

Good luck, sweetness! xxIndia
