A male Australia age 41-50, *ilentguy writes:

I am a 28 y.o shy guy who has been battling with these feelings over a friend of mine a 20 nearly 21 y.o girl for 2 years and I should explain that we are both christians.

Sometimes I feel like she likes me other times I can't be so sure and I am too scared to tell our mutual friends how I feel because I don't want them to think any different of me.

I really like her alot but feel like there is so much that she deserves that I am unable to offer her.

I have set myself a deadline to tell her how I feel by late February this year and am thinking by e mail if she does not return my feelings I can try to move on and if she does yay!!!

Can anyone tell me if I am doing the right thing here or not or give me some advice.

Yes, you are doing the right thing by telling her. At least you'll have closure. It would be said if you didn't say anything, only to find out in the future that she liked you. I think it's worth the chance.
